Job summary

Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health in Willoughby, OH is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our day, evening or overnight treatment team. This full-time role includes every-other-weekend work with shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends.

You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, assist with patient groups, document changes, and support care for patients of all ages while collaborating with a multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; associates or bachelor's in a related field preferred.
  • College student pursuing a degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing, or human services preferred.
  • Prior experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment.
  • Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors.
  • Assist with patient groups and activities.
  • Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet individual needs.
  • Provide trauma informed and age-specific care.
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques.

Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, licensed social workers, case managers, milieu and activity therapists. The Mental Health Technician

is a vital part of Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health’s treatment team. This is a full time position with an opportunity to work on the day, evening, or overnight shift. Our full time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.
