Job summary

Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health in Willoughby, Ohio, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join a multidisciplinary treatment team serving adults, adolescents and children. This full-time role offers day, evening, or overnight shifts with every-other-weekend work and competitive shift differentials.

You will help maintain a safe therapeutic environment, provide routine patient care in a psychiatric setting, document changes in behavior, and support group activities while working

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • College student pursuing behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services is preferred
  • Previous experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
  • Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
  • Assist with patient groups and activities
  • Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
  • Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Education

Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, licensed social workers, case managers, milieu and activity therapists. The Windsor Laurelwood team is dedicated to helping you regain control of your life.

The Mental Health Technician is a vital part of Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health’s treatment team. This is a full time position with an opportunity to work on the day, evening, or overnight shift. Our full time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.
