Kirkland: Our main 157-bed standalone psychiatric hospital comprises six units offering specialized treatment for mental health and co-occurring disorders for adults and adolescents.

The Adolescent Mental Health Technician position offers growth opportunities in the mental and behavioral health field through skill development in de-escalation, understanding behaviors, rapport building, and problem solving.

As an active member of the treatment team, the Mental Health Technician (MHT) provides continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adolescent patients. Responsibilities include leading group activities and assisting with milieu management. The work is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent; a degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or a related therapeutic discipline is preferred.
• Experience: At least two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, is preferred.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, Handle with Care, and Verbal De-Escalation Certification. Overtime and flexible hours may be required.
