Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, or related field.
  • High school diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience in human services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Friends Hospital is the nation's oldest private psychiatric hospital, located on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Philadelphia, PA. Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level of care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program. The hospital is easily accessible via public transportation and offers free, safe on-site parking.

Mental Health Technicians (MHT) at Friends Hospital assist in the direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues, as directed by the treatment team. MHTs facilitate and conduct groups, assist with unit programming, and ensure patients are engaged in active treatment at all times. They support daily leisure activities and all activities related to daily living within the patients' functional abilities and developmental levels.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in human services (e.g., psychology, sociology, counseling, criminal justice, pastoral counseling, elementary/special education, family therapy).

OR

High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience in the human service field.
