Richmond University Medical Center in New York is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support the Registered Nurse in direct care of psychiatric patients and milieu management during the day shift (7.5 hours).
The MHT will organize group activities, aid with ADLs, demonstrate a caring attitude, and monitor medications while collaborating with the care team. A high school diploma is required; BLS certification is mandatory, with CPI/PMCS preferred.

Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is an individual who functions in both a support and collaborative role with the Registered Nurse by providing direct care to individual and to groups of psychiatric patients. He/she is responsible for patient care activities as assigned and milieu management.
Principal duties and responsibilities include:
Required Experience: 2 yrs experience in an acute care Psychiatric setting preferred. Ability to read, write, understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner; orientation toward consumer satisfaction; and, physical stamina, manual dexterity and visual and aural acuity to perform duties
Certification/Licensure: EKG and Phlebotomy exp. preferred. Current BLS required and CPI or PMCS preferred
Education Requirements: High school diploma required. BS or 60 credits towards BS in a related field preferred.
Salary Range: $28.610/hr - $33.975/hr
