Job summary

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute (GBHI) in Georgetown, TX, is seeking a PRN Mental Health Technician to provide high-quality care for patients with psychiatric needs. Shifts are day 7a-7p or night 7p-7a, with at least one weekend per month, and the role supports the therapeutic milieu and patient plan of care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, CPR and SAMA certification, and a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in behavioral health; strong communication and time-management

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute (GBHI) is a 118-bed acute care psychiatric hospital offering comprehensive mental healthcare programs and services in Georgetown for adults, teens, and seniors. In addition to offeringinpatientacute care services, we provideoutpatientprograms that help support patients as they discharge or as an alternative to hospitalization.

Description:

Our Mental Health Technicians provide high quality care to patients who are hospitalized with psychiatric or emotional disorders.

Mental Health Technicians must support the hospital program philosophy of care, support and ensure a therapeutic milieu for all patients, communicate with nursing staff constantly, and participate in the patient plan of care as assigned.

This PRN position can be either day shift 7a-7p. or night shift, 7p-7a and does require that you work at least one weekend shift per month.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. CPR and SAMA is required (training required and employer provided)
• Required Licenses: None
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare setting. Experience in a free standing psychiatric hospital preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be a good listener with a pleasant demeanor that encourages and engages others.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize with strong time management skills.
• Screening: Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical, and be able to provide positive employment references.
