Centennial Peaks Hospital in Louisville, CO seeks a Mental Health Tech to support a safe, therapeutic milieu for adults with psychiatric needs under RN supervision. You will observe, document patient information, and communicate with the nursing team.

Key duties include crisis intervention, individual/family education, and assisting with activities of daily living. Shift: day shifts (7am–3:30pm) plus required weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred for advancement.
• CPR training preferred or ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Located in beautiful Louisville, CO, our 104-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness including chemical dependency. Centennial Peaks offers unique and individualized programming for adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities. Our dynamic leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department. Our hospital is fortunate to provide Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

The Mental Health Tech (MHT), creates a safe environment for patients, observe and record patient information pertinent to the treatment plan and reporting this information to the nursing team, saves lives, when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living. This role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Shift Hours: Day Shift: 3x 8-hour shifts per week from 7am - 3:30pm.

2 weekend shifts (4 monthly) per pay period REQUIRED.

This position is eligible for our generous shift differentials: Weekend Day (Sat-Sun) $2/hr, Evening (Mon-Thurs) $3.25/hr, Weekend Evening (Fri-Sun) $5.00/hr, Night (Mon-Thurs) $5.00/hr, Weekend Night (Fri-Sun) $7.00/hr. *must work three and a half hours (3.5 hours) into a shift to qualify for shift differential.

Qualifications

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred or ability to learn.
