Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute in Georgetown, TX is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician to deliver compassionate care for psychiatric inpatients. You will support a healing environment, collaborate with nursing staff, and actively participate in the patient care plan to promote stabilization and recovery.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR/SAMA training; clinical experience in behavioral health is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. CPR and SAMA is required (training provided by employer).
• Experience: Clinical experience preferred in a behavioral healthcare setting. Experience in a free standing psychiatric hospital preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: must have excellent communication skills and be a good listener with a pleasant demeanor that encourages and engages others; must be able to multi-task, prioritize with strong time management skills.
• Screening: Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical, and be able to provide positive employment references.
• Physical Demands: includes bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and repetitive motions.

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute (GBHI) is a 118-bed acute care psychiatric hospital offering comprehensive mental healthcare programs and services in Georgetown for adults, teens, and seniors. In addition to offering inpatient acute care services, we provide outpatient programs that help support patients as they discharge or as an alternative to hospitalization.

Description:

Our Mental Health Technicians provide high quality care to patients who are hospitalized with psychiatric or emotional disorders.

Mental Health Technicians must support the hospital program philosophy of care, support and ensure a therapeutic milieu for all patients, communicate with nursing staff constantly, and participate in the patient plan of care as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. CPR and SAMA is required (training required and employer provided)
• Required Licenses: None
• Experience: Clinical experience preferred in a behavioral healthcare setting. Experience in a free standing psychiatric hospital preferred
