Job summary

Salt Lake Behavioral Health in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a caring Mental/Behavioral Health Technician to join the nursing support team. You will work nights (6pm–6am) providing direct patient care and therapeutic support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The role includes a pay range of $18.00–$24.00 per hour, with a $3.00–$4.00 night/weekend differential; education/experience influence the exact rate.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; degree in social work, recreational therapy or related discipline preferred.
• Must maintain valid driver's license if transporting patients; CPR and Handle With Care certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, supervision, and therapeutic support as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Under RN supervision, helps maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment and supports treatment plan goals.

Qualifications

Education: High School Degree or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.

Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred, NOT required.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state if transporting patients. Must attend in house CPR and Handle With Care certification.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
