Job summary

Brattleboro Retreat is seeking Mental Health Techs to support patients admitted for mental health care across children, adolescents and adults. Responsibilities include supervision, patient support, and participation in therapeutic activities.

You will engage patients in group programs and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure safe, compassionate care in a hospital setting in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human service field or equivalent, with focus on behavioral sciences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with co-workers and all members of the treatment team.
• Current VT Nursing Assistant licensure preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Mental Health Techs at the Brattleboro Retreat help meet the needs of children, adolescents and adults who have been hospitalized for mental health issues. For example, Mental Health Techs will:

• provide direct supervision and patient support
• engage patients in therapeutic activities
• organize and run group programs.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

May be required to perform duties of lesser, equal or greater responsibility.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in a human service related field with an emphasis on behavioral sciences OR high school diploma and preferably 2 years (minimum1 year) related experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with co-workers and all members of the treatment team.
3. Current active VT Nursing Assistant licensure preferred.
