Job summary

Brattleboro Retreat is seeking Mental Health Techs to support patients across age groups who have been hospitalized for mental health issues. You will provide direct supervision and patient support, and help engage patients in therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities include organizing and running group programs within a treatment team, collaborating with staff to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field with an emphasis on behavioral sciences.
• High school diploma and preferably 2 years (minimum 1 year) related experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with co-workers and all members of the treatment team.

Mental Health Techs at the Brattleboro Retreat help meet the needs of children, adolescents and adults who have been hospitalized for mental health issues. For example, Mental Health Techs will:

• provide direct supervision and patient support
• engage patients in therapeutic activities
• organize and run group programs.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

May be required to perform duties of lesser, equal or greater responsibility.
