Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, PA, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Mental Health Technician to support patients across ages in a 112-bed behavioral health facility offering acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehab services.

The Mental Health Technician position is full-time with every other weekend rotation, and shifts run 12 hours: 6:30am–7:00pm or 6:30pm–7:00am, providing continuous patient care under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a psychology-related field is highly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License with safe driving record

Responsibilities

• Monitors unit milieu and helps to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule.
• Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety.
• Works collaboratively with unit nursing staff on patient care activities.
• Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques.

Our substance use disorder unit shift available 8-hour shifts- 6:30am-3:00pm pr 2:30pm-11pm

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
