Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., in Shippensburg, PA, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for full-time overnight shifts (10:30pm–7:00am). The role supports a 112-bed behavioral health unit serving adults and adolescents, with group activities and crisis de‑escalation duties.

You will join a treatment team under RN supervision, emphasizing safety and therapeutic care in a demanding behavioral health environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a psychology‑related field is highly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License with safe driving record

Responsibilities

• Monitors unit milieu and helps to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule.
• Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety.
• Works collaboratively with unit nursing staff on patient care activities.
• Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de‑escalation techniques.

We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
