Job summary

The Meadows Psychiatric Center, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join a full-time team in Central Pennsylvania near State College. The role supports patients from adolescence to geriatrics, under RN supervision, with shifts 3pm-11:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am and every-other-weekend rotation.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of mental health experience, along with strong communication, de-escalation, and reliability to provide

Mental Health Technician Opportunity

This opportunity is full-time 8-hour or 12-hour shift options: 3pm-11:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am with rotating every other weekend to work.

1 year experience in mental health with a bachelor's degree preferred.

The Meadows Psychiatric Centeris the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central Pennsylvania. We are located a short distance outside State College, PA. The Meadows is a 119 inpatient behavioral health hospital and has been providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for over 35 years.

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

Mental Health Tech Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • one (1) year experience in mental health
  • Position also requires excellent verbal communication skills; ability to remain calm in dynamic environment; commitment to providing a high level of care to patients of all ages, excellent customer service skills and a reliable & dependable attendance to work profile.
  • Verbal deescalation skills required
