About Our Unit

This unit is located at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Schedule Commitment

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule requires:

• Working the required shift
• Two (2) twelve (12) hour shifts weekly
• Every third (3rd) weekend
• One holiday per season

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Mental Health/Behavioral Health Techs will:

• Assist the RN in delivering care, observing patient behaviors, and more.
• Report/document changes in patient mood or behavior promptly.
• Provide one-on-one sessions with assigned patients as needed.

Maintain a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse in an inpatient setting, providing compassionate care.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must:

• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Have at least 12 college credits; a full college degree is preferred
• Possess a BS or BA in behavioral health (preferred)
• Have one year of experience with behavioral health clients (preferred)
• Hold BLS certification through AHA
• Be trained in PEAT and capable of safely scheduling and restraining an aggressive patient
