Job summary

Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater, a freestanding 144-bed psychiatric hospital, is hosting a Mental Health Tech opening. The MHT supports the treatment team with patient care supervision, milieu management, and group activities.

Shifts are 12 hours, 7p-7a or 7a-7p, with differential pay. Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least one year in healthcare or behavioral health, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year in a healthcare setting and/or behavioral health experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Must complete and maintain aggression management/crisis intervention/restraint training.
• Must pass competency assessments within 90 days of hire.
• May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
• Must be able to prioritize workload, effectively multitask and problem solve in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide Milieu management and continuous patient care supervision, interactions and role modeling to patients; ensure a safe environment and lead therapeutic MHT patient groups.
• Conduct Q15 rounds and one to one patient supervision; participate in crisis intervention situations as needed.
• Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient and maintain awareness of patient’s individualized plan of care, including goals and interventions.
