Job summary

Lakeside Behavioral Health System is seeking a Community Counselor/Mental Health Tech to join our team in Memphis, TN. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and delivering individual/family education and activities of daily living for mental health patients; opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits are

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred; or high school diploma required.
• One year work experience providing direct patient care with knowledge of direct patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness.
• CPR training preferred.

Job Description

The Community Counselor/Mental Health Tech provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education and activities of daily living for mental health patients.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; or high school diploma required. One year work experience providing direct patient care with knowledge of direct patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness.

Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
