Job summary

The Wood County Human Services Department is seeking a dedicated Mental Health/SUD Therapist for the Outpatient Clinic. You will provide individual and group therapy, assessments, and treatment planning for clients with mental health and substance use needs.

Responsibilities include documentation in SmartCare EHR, collaboration with supervisors and medical staff, and ongoing professional development to meet licensing and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field plus 3,000 hours of postgraduate supervised clinical work.
• Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Wisconsin.
• Wisconsin AODA certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or CSAC or SAC-IT or experience providing substance use treatment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct treatment plans based on person-centered planning principles with time-limited, outcome-based goals.
• Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches and motivational interviewing.
• Participate in Urgent Care/crisis counseling, hospital or jail consults per program needs.
• Maintain case records in SmartCare EHR and complete required forms to meet state reporting requirements.
• Engage in scheduled clinical supervision and case reviews with the Medical Director.

Current Opportunity To Join Our Team

The Wood County Human Services Department, has an immediate opening for a Mental Health/SUD Therapist. This position will provide clinical services to clients seeking mental health and/or substance abuse treatment services from the Mental Health/AODA Outpatient Clinic. Primary duties include assessment and treatment plan development based on Person Centered Planning principles; providing individual, family, and group therapy as identified in the treatment plan; providing consultation and education services to clients, organizations, and community agencies; completing required paperwork to meet certification and other state reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Utilizing agency developed/approved tools, conduct treatment plans based on person centered planning principles. Treatment plans are to be time limited, outcome based, focusing on client identified goals.
• Provide individual and group counseling as identified in the treatment plan, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, and therapeutic approaches that are evidence based.
• Participate in various programs/projects of the Outpatient Clinic, including Urgent Care/crisis counseling as scheduled, hospital and/or jail consults.
• Maintain case records in agency computerized client system SmartCare EHR to document services rendered, clinical review of cases, and all other client related services. Complete other forms and reports as required by the agency. All documentation will be completed in a timely manner and will meet State and federal regulations and guidelines; documentation will be in keeping with DHS 75.
• Participate in scheduled clinical supervision and case review sessions with the Medical Director, having completed all paperwork required for such reviews.
• Assist in mentoring new clinicians and interns at WCHSD OPC.
• Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner.

• OTHER JOB DUTIES
• Actively participate in development and conducting quality improvement projects.
• Provide consultation and education services to clients, organizations, and community agencies as requested.
• Attend in-service trainings as appropriate to meet licensing requirements, and to continue personal and professional growth.
• Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.

Experience, Training, Qualifications

Must be able to work independently and possess good communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multi-disciplinary team is imperative. Must be able to work in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and agency policies. Ability to understand and follow oral and written guidelines and policies. Reading, writing, adding, and subtracting to read and prepare reports, read laws and policies are required. Maintaining client confidentiality is absolutely imperative.
