Mental Health Specialist Sitter - Safety Attendants, Per Diem Variable

Join us at Cape Fear Valley Health as a Mental Health Specialist Sitter. This role involves sitting with assigned patients, assisting with patient safety, and providing stimuli to support their well-being. The MHS Sitter communicates effectively with the care team and offers excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Monitoring and observing patients to ensure safety.
  2. Utilizing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
  3. Collaborating with nurses and other staff to support patient care.
  4. Engaging patients in safe individual activities.
  5. Communicating calmly and effectively with patients and their families.

Qualifications include:

  • Strong observation and intervention skills.
  • Proficiency in interpersonal and verbal communication.
  • CPR & Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, turning, and lifting patients.

Work location: Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC. Department: Safety Attendants. Employment type: Part-time, variable shifts. Must hold BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
