Qualifications

  • Degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling or related field
  • Master's degree required for Level I
  • Level II requires Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience
  • Level III requires Master’s degree plus 4 years of experience
  • State licensure in counseling, social work or psychology or eligible for licensure required upon hire
  • Experience substitution allowed: education can count toward experience

  • Participates in clinical team meetings to discuss progress and treatment plans
  • Facilitates psychoeducational groups on emotion management and cultural diversity
  • Completes documentation, risk assessments, and casemanagement tasks
  • Plans activities for the Accountability Based Sex Offender Program II student community
  • Participates in community meetings to resolve problems within the community

Overview

The College of Liberal Arts’ Psychological Sciences Department ishiring for a Mental Health Specialist I/II/III . This rolewill provide both individual and group psychotherapy to juvenileswho have been adjudicated for sex offenses, as well as providepsychoeducation groups and family therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical intervention to students in AccountabilityBased Sex Offender Program II including individual, group andfamily therapy.
  • Participates in clinical team meetings to discuss students'progress and appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Facilitates psycho educational groups to teach various conceptssuch as (but not limited to) emotion management and tolerance forcultural diversity.
  • Completes documentation relative to provision of services, riskassessments, and other tasks relative to students' casemanagement.
  • Plans activities for the Accountability Based Sex OffenderProgram II student community.
  • Participates in community meetings to resolve problems withinthe community.
Qualifications

Focus of Education: Degree in Clinical Psychology, SocialWork, Professional Counseling or related field

Scope of Experience:

Level I:
Master's degree

Level II:

  • Master's degree
  • 2 years of experience

Level III:

  • Master's degree
  • 4 years of experience
License and Certifications:
  • State Licensure in counseling, social work or psychology oreligible for licensure required upon hire
Substitution allowed for Experience:

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the requiredexperience, they may normally apply additional appropriateeducation toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1)year relevant education per year of required experience.
