Job summary

Oregon Health Authority is hiring Mental Health Security Technicians for Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon. These full-time, permanent positions support physical security, patient safety and emergency response in a psychiatric hospital.

Responsibilities include controlling access, monitoring cameras, patrolling facilities, responding to emergencies, and assisting with behavioral interventions when needed.

Qualifications

• One year of security experience or direct care in a mental-health setting.
• Meet criminal-record and driving-record requirements throughout employment.
• Hospital/mental-health experience, camera or alarm monitoring, de-escalation, teamwork and crisis-response skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control access, monitor cameras and patrol hospital buildings and grounds.
• Respond to emergencies, support patient movement and assist with behavioral interventions when necessary.
• Document incidents and support staff, patients and visitors.
