Job summary

The Behavioral Health Security Officer at Baptist Health Arkansas works day shift (6a-6p) to provide safety and security for patients, staff, and visitors by enforcing unit rules and de-escalating crises. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of de-escalation training provided by Baptist Health including all required check-offs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with the health care team.
• Ability to learn and apply new healthcare related skills.
• Ability to engage patients at the appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety for patients, staff, and visitors and de-escalate crises.
• Perform 1:1 observation and routine room checks.
• Assist in applying restraints when necessary.
• Check patient belongings and inspect for contraband.
• Search new admissions and report changes in patient condition.
