Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. seeks a Mental Health Professional I to deliver clinic and community-based mental health services, manage a client caseload, and contribute to treatment planning under supervision.

Responsibilities include charting for Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal, staff training, and coordination with the Assistant Program Director. Bilingual Spanish and/or Hmong skills are required. A valid CA license or registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral health science with current registration as AMFT/APCC/ASW.
• Licensed in CA as LCSW/LMFT/LPCC or eligible for registration.
• Experience with clinical mental health services for individuals, families, and groups.

Responsibilities

• Maintain caseload of clients and document services per program/state requirements.
• Provide direct clinical services in clinic and community settings (individuals and groups).
• Train interns/volunteers on procedures, ethics, and confidentiality.
• Supervise and train staff; participate in meetings and on-site trainings.
• Attend to emergencies and drive agency business as needed.
• Assist with bilingual Spanish/Hmong translations for case managers.

JOB SUMMARYThe Mental Health Professional I reports to the Assistant Program Director and is responsible for providing mental health clinical services, direct treatment services to patients, and case management services to clients.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain a caseload of clients.Adhere to reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.Document services to meet all clinical program and state requirements, including Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward development and attainment of a treatment plan.Meet with clinical mental health services staff for the purpose of reviewing client progress and to assure quality treatment planning.Review client files at discharge for completion, making written notes of findings, and review findings with counseling staff for the purpose of quality assurance.Train interns/volunteers in program procedures, specific work assignments, and ethical obligations including client confidentiality.Provide direct services in the clinic, and in the community, including individual and group treatment, case management, and consultation.Give input on overall structure of treatment program.Consult with and/or educate community groups, and other agencies.Provide supervision and training of other staff as assigned.Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-site staff training.Will think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.Will drive on Agency business.Physical presence at the program is required.The position of Mental Health Professional, and the role as a professional working with people in distress can create increased mental/occupational stress.ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTSLicensed Preferred: Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)Masters: A Master’s degree in behavioral health science with current registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or an Associate Social Worker (ASW).Must be registered with Board of Behavioral Science (BBS).Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.Experience with co-occurring substance use disorders and treatment modalities.Must have strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to operate within Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.Intermediate computer skills in Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.
