Job summary

EP!C in Peoria, IL seeks a Mental Health Professional (MHP) to join our Behavioral Health Services team under supervision of a QMHP. You will provide behavioral health services including assessment, treatment planning, counseling, community support, and case management to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs in office, community, or home settings.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will focus on wellness, recovery, and independence, using crisis intervention when needed and

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, counseling and guidance, vocational counseling, education or another related human service field
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and safe driving record
• Must pass a background check
• At least one year of direct service in a mental health program setting preferred
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
• IM+CANS certification preferred or complete certification within first 30 days
• Ability to multitask
• Must communicate effectively, both verbally and written
• Capable of proofreading printed and computer work
• Professional interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong ethical conduct
• Establish rapport with empathy, active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving in a therapeutic setting
• General knowledge of coping skills for depression, anxiety, and other mental health diagnoses

Responsibilities

• The MHP will provide behavioral health services including assessment, treatment planning, counseling, community support and case management.

• Engage with the person’s support network including family, guardians, natural supports, and medical providers.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed and focus on promoting wellness, recovery and independence in various settings.

Summary

The Mental Health Professional (MHP) will work within our growing Behavioral Health Services team under the guidance/supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). The MHP will participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team, providing services to people who have both intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health needs. The MHP is responsible for providing behavioral health services, including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, counseling, community support and case management. Must be familiar with providing mental health interventions, including crisis intervention when needed. Services are focused on promoting wellness, recovery and independence in the office, community or home setting. This role will also involve interaction with the person’s support network, including but not limited to family members, guardians, natural supports, and medical providers.
