Job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new service which we are delivering across Wigan: The Mental Health Support Team (MHST).
We are looking for skilled practitioners, with mental health experience, who can provide low intensity evidenced based CBT interventions, manage risk and are passionate about young person-centred practice.
Successful candidates will play an important part in the in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of young people in education settings.
As part of a new team, you will be empowered to shape and build the service with further education settings in Wigan. You will help build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the wider network.
Main duties of the jobThe Mental Health Practitioner will be an integral part of the MHST in Wigan. You will use your clinical skills to listen to the needs of the child, young person and family to provide meaningful evidenced based interventions. You will provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals in the life of the child/young person. You will work closely with education professionals to foster a whole school/college approach to mental well-being.
