Job Summary:

Location: Center Pointe Professional Plaza
Address: 9239 West Center Rd. - Omaha, NE

Work Schedule: 40 hours a week. Will be require to work at Methodist Fremont Hospital one day a week.

Best Care EAP practitioners will: Counsel, coach and assist clients (employees and benefit eligible family members) with issues affecting personal mental wellbeing and job-related performance in a short-term, solution-based format. Be available for occasional on-call coverage as scheduled.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions
  1. Provide counseling services to individuals and families through various communication methods (e.g., in-person, telehealth, etc.).
  2. Accurately assess client needs and strengths.
  3. Develop, update and review client goals and desired outcomes.
  4. Implement counseling modalities in a culturally competent and compassionate manner.
  5. Tailor services to the client, providing the best possible outcome.
  6. Refer clients to specialized or long-term care as necessary.
  7. Maintain appropriate documentation to include all client contact and notes in the electronic medical records system in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. Maintain acceptable satisfaction rate on all clinical services as measured by Satisfaction Surveys.
  9. Maintain acceptable productivity standards.
  10. Work within a multidisciplinary setting and collaborate with external parties as appropriate to coordinate care and address behavioral concerns/referrals.
  11. Maintain professional and consistent communication with Supervisor/Manager on cases, client care and ideas for improvement in efficiency and efficacy of the program.
  12. Provisionally licensed counselors must participate in ongoing, regular one-on-one supervision as required by the State.
  13. Provide critical incident/crisis intervention as requested.
  14. Maintain a working knowledge of local community referral resources and make appropriate, cost-effective referrals as warranted.
  15. Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and continuing education.
  16. Build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with both internal and external customers.
  17. Follow and comply with all professional, ethical, safety, and compliance standards, rules and regulations.
  18. Attend and support events and activities to increase awareness of the program.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Master's Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or another human services related field required.

Experience

  • At least one year of post-master’s clinical experience in mental health, counseling/therapy, and or substance use/abuse treatment preferred.

License/Certifications

  • State licensure as a Nebraska Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP or LMHP) required.
  • Additional certifications in mental health preferred, but not required, such as: LIMHP, LADC, CMFT, and reciprocal license in other states.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge and utilization of evidence-based practices
  • Ability to provide solution-based counseling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Skill interacting with individuals experiencing crisis situations
  • Ability to assess and assist with mental health and substance use/abuse issues

  • Ability to work set hours for their specific position which may include early morning, and/or some evenings
  • Ability to travel occasionally in all weather conditions between locations as needed
  • Ability to become credentialed and maintain credential requirements for all applicable payers, including Medicaid
  • Ability to work primarily on site
