Job description

Responsibilities

1. Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment related to mental health needs of clients under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. As a member of the multidisciplinary counseling clinic team, contribute to assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery of mental health services.
2. Conduct mental health assessments to ensure proper placement and identify issues that may complicate recovery, under supervision.
3. Offer individual therapy and guidance to address mental health issues, supporting and encouraging resource utilization under supervision.
4. Facilitate group counseling sessions to address mental health issues with peer support.
5. Promote collaboration with other Hazelden continuum care programs, such as outpatient chemical dependency, family programs, and the Renewal Center.
6. Assist in crisis intervention to ensure patient safety and well-being under supervision.
7. Engage in ongoing education (36 hours every two years) to maintain high-quality service and meet licensing requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Knowledge of 12-step chemical treatment approaches and stages of recovery
• Licensure in process (MFT, psychology, or social work)
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• Satisfactory pass of state-required background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree
