Job summary
Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System seeks a Nursing Assistant for its Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MH RRTP). The role supports Veterans with complex mental health and substance use needs, providing daily living assistance and therapeutic care under supervision.
Responsibilities include aiding in therapy participation, monitoring patient safety, and using basic equipment to support care plans.
Qualifications
- meets basic requirements: U.S. citizenship or applicable VA policy, English proficiency, and experience/education in NA duties.
- Demonstrated KSAs: effective patient communication, observation, and nursing support under RN/LPN supervision.
- Several education paths acceptable: 2 years of college with related courses or 4-year degree with health-care related coursework.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility).
- Assist RN/therapists in rehabilitation and care.
- Monitor patient safety and report deviations promptly.
- Observe patient status and communicate changes to supervisor.
- Maintain aseptic technique and use basic diagnostic equipment as directed.
