Job summary

Elite DNA Behavioral Health seeks a full-time Medical Assistant in our Oviedo office to support clinicians and improve patient flow. You will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks, assist providers, take vital signs, manage documentation, and help coordinate care for patients across psychiatry and related services.

The role requires high school diploma, healthcare exposure, and strong communication skills; EHR experience and CPT/ICD-10 knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One-year experience in healthcare, medical staff services preferred.
• Medical Assisting certification preferred.
• Proficient oral and written communications.
• Medical terminology knowledge essential.
• Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 Coding procedures.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supports psychiatrists, PAs and APRNs.
• Initiates and completes all relevant documentation within organizational time frames.
• Performs duties in a prioritized, organized, and efficient manner to maximize clinic productivity.
• Collaborates with team members to ensure a complete, positive experience for all clients.
• Triage patient phone calls and document interactions within 24 hours.
• Take vitals and record medication histories accurately; manage medication lists.
• Process medication orders and communicate with pharmacies; document accordingly within 24 hours.
• Prepare and file patient records and chart documentation; maintain confidentiality.
