Base pay range

$74,700.00/yr - $101,656.00/yr

Position Summary

Under general supervision, with broad latitude for independent judgment, performs highly responsible professional and supervisory work in the mental health discipline. In addition to duties of Assignment Levels I and II, also performs the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement counseling programs in collaboration with mental health leadership; monitor and guide counselors at Levels I and II.
• Supervise mental health counselors at Level I, practicing under a limited permit.
• Assign supervisory responsibilities to Level II counselors.
• Assess performance and facilitate staff development for counselors at Levels I and II.
• Facilitate participation of mental health service consumers in assigned areas.
• Act as liaison between healthcare setting and community agencies.

Qualifications

• Valid license and current registration or limited permit as a Mental Health Counselor issued by the NYSED.
• Two (2) years of full-time, paid experience providing direct client care in a behavioral health setting, with a valid license and registration.
• Or three (3) additional years of post-licensure experience, with the same license and registration.
