Job Title: Mental Health Consultant

Introduction

The Department of Community Justice is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) for a Mental Health Consultant position with the Cultural Responsivity Team. This position requires advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities working with the Latino/Latina/Latine community.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver crucial short-term treatment interventions aimed at stabilizing family dynamics.
  • Provide comprehensive case management, including connecting families to community-based organizations for longer-term care.
  • Facilitate family meetings, conduct individual sessions, and perform thorough mental health assessments.
  • Develop informed treatment recommendations and lead parent skill-building and skill groups to foster positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in the mental health field with major coursework in social science or a related field.
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-I or II) credentialing requirements.
  • Latino/a/e Cultural Competency, including knowledge, understanding, and experience with the Latino/a/e culture, traditions, attitudes, beliefs, and history.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read fluently in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of mental health case management experience within the Latino/Latina/Latine Community.
  • Attained the Administration Certification of Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN).
  • Experience providing family therapy, mental health treatment, and addictions treatment to adolescents.
