Job summary

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Mental Health Clinician III for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, an ideal candidate will have a background in treating addictions and be able to provide clinical interventions for research projects within the division. Also provide support for other division projects, all of which have a focus on Opioid Use Disorder training, research and support services. Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Provide clinical interventions in the context of research projects in the division.
• Participate in training and other project evaluations.
• Conduct face-to-face and virtual research interviews.
• Contribute to the development of distribution plans and distribute naloxone kits to professionals and the public.
• Travel to various agencies, organizations, and communities (e.g., criminal justice, drug treatment, healthcare, community center settings) throughout NJ; most travel will be in Central and Southern New Jersey.
• Sets up training rooms, equipment, and materials as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Master's Degree in mental health discipline and licensure to practice as required by New Jersey state laws.

Certifications/Licenses

• Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Physical Demands: Prolonged standing, frequent walking, bending and lifting up to 25 lbs in order to move training equipment, transport training materials, and set up training rooms.
• Work Environment: Office environment, field training locations, moderately noisy.
