Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) seeks a Mental Health Clinician II for Northern State Prison in Newark, NJ. The role involves completing psychological testing and assessments of adult inmates sentenced to the Department of Corrections. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting specialized psychological testing and assessments.
  • Formulating diagnoses accurately and developing treatment plans.
  • Making clinical decisions regarding treatment appropriateness and modalities, including group, individual, and family therapies.
  • Assessing and referring inmates for higher levels of care as needed.
  • Recognizing the unique needs of adult inmates, seniors, and their families.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Forensic Psychology.
  • Training in psychological testing and measurement.
  • At least 2 years post-master's experience or Doctorate in psychology.
  • Valid Driver's License and own vehicle for site travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensure such as LAC, LPC, LCADC.
