Job summary

HAN Staff seeks a Mental Health Clinician (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) for a correctional facility in Tutwiler, MS. This travel-based contract role offers full-time shifts with some weekend work and 8- or 12-hour options. Travel pay and stipends are part of the compensation.

You will perform mental health screenings, develop and adjust treatment plans, document in health records, and collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, chaplaincy and security to support inmate care.

Qualifications

• Five years of clinical experience, including two in a comparable role.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
• Must possess LPC, LCSW or LMFT licensure/certification in the practice state.
• A valid driver's license preferred unless contract dictates otherwise.
• Minimum age 18; current PSV from licensing board or verification agency may be required.
• Current certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, immunizations) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments of inmates from records and interviews.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans based on need and functioning.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
• Apply psychological counseling theory and techniques to caseload treatments.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions as needed.
• Consult with psychiatry, nursing, education, chaplain and security to understand issues.

Travel Pay: $17.24 / hour

(W2)

Travel Rate (based on 40 hours): Hourly $17.26, Stipend (Lodging $910.00 + M&I $602.00) = $1,512.00.
Total Comp :$2,202.40

Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for Travel Pay.

Shift Details:

• Full Time Schedules

• Some weekends may be required

• Days 13 weeks Auto offers LCSW, LPC, or LMFT Social security card and driver's license required for facility clearance

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conducts mental health screenings and assessments based on a review of available records and clinical interviews with inmates.

• Provides treatment to inmates by developing, implementing and modifying individual treatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and level of functioning.

• Documents treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.

• Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.

• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload.

• Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates.

• Consults with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others, as applicable to gather information and understanding into the reasons for the escalation of problems behaviors and changes in mental health condition of inmates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of clinical experience which includes two (2) years in a comparable job position.

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or a degree in a related clinical area.

• Must possess appropriate LPC, LCSW, LMFT certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs.

• A valid driver's license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute.

• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
