Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is hiring a Mental Health Clinician for Farmville, VA to deliver mental health services to inmates in a correctional setting. The role includes travel pay, lodging and meal stipends, and a full-time 40-hour week schedule.

• Minimum one (1) year of related work experience within the last 3 years.
• Copy of PSV from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of current required certifications (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Performs mental health screenings and assessments for inmates.
• Develops, implements, and modifies individual treatment plans.
• Documents treatment and evaluation in health records with confidentiality.
• Applies counseling theory and techniques to caseload.
• Provides assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.

Travel Package:

Travel Rate (based on 36 hours): Hourly $28.31, Stipend (Lodging $791.00 + M&I $476.00) = $1,267.00

Total Comp :$2,399.40

Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 70+ miles from the facility to qualify for Travel Pay.

Shift Details:

• Days, Full time.
• 40 hours per week. 5x8 schedule
• Candidates must have open availability for scheduling as needed per the client scheduling policy

Mental Health Clinician Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conducts mental health screenings and assessments based on a review of available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Provides treatment to inmates by developing, implementing and modifying individual treatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and level of functioning.
• Documents treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload.
• Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates **. **

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution
• Licensed by the State in VA. The license MUST be in good standing
• Minimum one (1) year of related work experience within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
