Job summary

Miami University Regionals is accepting applications for one full time, 12-month, continuing position of Mental Health Clinician. This position will be located at the Hamilton campus with some travel required based on needs at the Middletown campus.

The Mental Health Clinician (1) performs the duties of a behavioral health clinician, providing generalist clinical services to college students, and consultation services to faculty, staff, students and parents/families, and (2) provides

• Master's degree in an accredited mental health program by date of appointment, licensed or licensed eligible in Ohio.
• Consideration may be given to applicants with university student mental health experience and independent Ohio licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provides culturally informed generalist mental health counseling to students (general mental health, substance use, attention issues) and individual/group therapy.
• Intervenes in crisis situations and collaborates with families, faculty, staff and external practitioners.
• Delivers psycho-educational programming and maintains clinical records and documentation.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in deployments of clinical services as needed.
• Assumes related administrative duties and may serve on committees.

Job Description

Essential Duties

• Provides multi-culturally informed generalist mental healthcounseling services, including general mental health, substanceuse, and attention problem screenings and individual and groupcounseling and psychotherapy to Miami University studentspresenting with a wide range of mental health concerns during theheavily demanded Fall and Spring Semesters.
• Intervenes in crisis and emergency situations of a mentalhealth nature with students
• Consults with families, faculty, staff and other professionalsregarding the mental health needs of students.
• Provides psycho-educational programming to various groupswithin the university community.
• Maintains clinical records and provides clinical documentationand communication with external practitioners as necessary forethical clinical treatment.
• Attends and participates in clinical staff meetings andconsultations.
• Assumes responsibility for other administrative duties asassigned including possibly serving on departmental, divisional,and university committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in an appropriate accredited mental health trainingprogram (social work, mental health counseling, psychology, etc.)by date of appointment. Dependently licensed or licensed eligiblein Ohio within one’s field of training.

Consideration may be given to applicants with specific training andexperience providing mental health services to a university studentpopulation. Independently licensed in Ohio within one's field oftraining.
