Description: Our client is currently seeking a Travel Mental Health Clinician for our client in East Elmhurst, NY!

Total Gross Pay: $3,005.00

Client: New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation

Start Date: 05/05/2025

End Date: 08/09/2025

Duties

• Provide quality mental health care to incarcerated adult men on Rikers Island.
• Conduct mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, assessments, and follow-up care.
• Determine and coordinate appropriate levels of mental health care.
• Collaborate with Reentry Social Workers for discharge planning services.
• Complete required statistical reports.
• Work with the Department of Correction to ensure patient access, proper housing, and treatment disposition.
• Coordinate patient care with other institutional programs.
• Develop and lead group treatment sessions on mental health observation units and other units as assigned.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Participate in weekly clinical supervision with the Clinical Supervisor.
• Attend mental health and medical rounds as assigned.
• Participate in case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving or being considered for mental health treatment.
• Conduct psychological testing, if assigned.
• Supervise social work interns or student volunteers, if assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Chief, Assistant Unit Chief, and Clinical Supervisor.
  
  

Skills Required

• Experience conducting both assessment and treatment with adults with behavioral problems, substance use histories, and severe mental illness preferred.
• Inpatient or related experience preferred.
  
  

Education

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• New York State License in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology licensure.
