Job summary

Relief Mental Health is seeking a Clinical Assistant to work closely with the Mental Health Provider to perform vital signs, point-of-care tests, and other patient care tasks. The role requires compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to work until 8pm when needed.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, reviewing paperwork, coordinating scheduling, maintaining the EHR, and assisting with basic duties and triage. Training to administer TMS treatments may be provided.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors and patients at the office.
  • Review patient paperwork and mental health assessments.
  • Assist with phone calls from patients.
  • Coordinate daily administrative activities and enter patient data in the EHR.
  • Prepare and upkeep exam and treatment rooms.
  • Obtain and record patient histories and test results for records.
  • Assist with vitals and point-of-care testing and train to administer TMS treatments.
  • Assist with pharmacy calls and prior authorizations for medications.
  • Handle printing and faxing documents; ensure HIPAA compliance.

About Us:

Relief Mental Health was founded in February of 2020. Within these 6 years we have expanded to 12 new offices across Illinois, Wisconsin, Colorado, and New Jersey. We aim to create a new standard for mental health care, offering a continuum of innovative therapeutic interventions and responding to evolving patient needs.

Job Summary:

The clinical assistant will be working closely with the Mental Health Provider to perform basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests) and other patient care. The ideal candidate is a compassionate person who pays attention to detail and is eager to assist patients and families. This position would require the ability to work until 8pm when needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist visitors and patients when they arrive at the office
  • Review all patient paperwork and mental health assessments
  • Assist with phone calls from patients
  • Coordinate the daily administrative activities, including but not limited to scheduling, entering patient data in the EHR system, patient check-in and check-out, rooming patients, patient medical record maintenance, etc.
  • Preparation and upkeep of exam and treatment rooms
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Assist providers with performing basic vital signs and point of care testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests) and other patient care
  • Train to administer TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) treatments
  • Assist providers with pharmacy calls regarding prescription questions and issues
  • Assist in prior authorizations for medications
  • Assist with printing and faxing documents
  • Follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA
Skills:
  • Previous experience with EHR systems - Kareo or Tebra is a plus
  • Previous experience with Google Drive
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical health care record system preferred, not required.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs - moving or assisting patient to bathrooms may be required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shift
