Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital is seeking a dedicated aide to support patient care within the Behavioral Health Services team. The role emphasizes direct patient interaction, observation, and collaboration with registered nurses to ensure safe, respectful care.

The position involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and contributing to a therapeutic environment in coordination with hospital staff and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provides 1:1 observation to assigned patients.
• Assists RN with patient care tasks including vital signs and room preparation.
• Assists patients with laundry, showering facilities, and daily activities.
• Manages dining carts, menus, trays, food orders and temperature logs.
• Supports nursing and unit staff during codes and emergency calls.
• Monitors patient safety and reports changes or risks to the RN and team.
• Delivers direct patient care under RN/manager guidance while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with healthcare providers and other departments.
• Assists with crisis management procedures during clinical or medical emergencies.
• Facilitates occupational, recreational, and patient-centered programs and escorts patients between locations.
