Job summary

Workforce Solutions, in partnership with Kaweah Health in Visalia, seeks a Mental Health BSN Nursing Instructor to deliver lab and clinical education for the Workforce Development Program. Hours vary with clinical rotations and labs, and you will supervise and evaluate students across settings.

The role requires BRN eligibility/approval for nursing education, a Master’s degree in nursing or related field, and RN licensure.

Qualifications

CA BRN license required and unencumbered.
Approval by CA BRN as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
Master’s degree in nursing, education, or administration; academic preparation for the subject taught.
BSN and enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for Clinical Teaching Assistant.
Four years RN experience with clinical last five years; CCR 1420(c) competence.
One year teaching nursing courses preferred.
Expertise in Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

Provide lab/clinical site education per curriculum and faculty expertise.
Plan and supervise student clinical experience in health care facilities.
Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes.
Provide timely feedback on clinical performance.
Maintain accurate student records and data collection.
Observe, instruct, and evaluate students; adapt methods as needed.
Utilize online activities to enhance course content and learning.
Submit program reports to the Academic Site Director; stay current with safety regulations.
