Hampton Behavioral Health Center is a 120-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Westampton, New Jersey. We offer advanced behavioral health, diagnostic treatment services for adults, adolescents, and older adults in inpatient and outpatient programs. Position Overview

The Mental Health Associate provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Clinical/Nursing Administration. We seek energetic individuals passionate about healthcare and healing, capable of engaging interactively with patients. The candidate should understand basic psychology and human behavior and be interested in fostering a therapeutic milieu. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, encouraging appropriate behavior, intervening when necessary, and preventing inappropriate behaviors on the units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and escort patients to meals, programs, court, clinics, and other activities, demonstrating a take-charge attitude with compassion and firmness.
  • Maintain good documentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Meet with assigned patients daily and provide feedback to the treatment team on their progress and adherence to the Nursing Care Plan.
Shift Details

This is a part-time position with evening and overnight shifts available:

  • Evening shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, three days/week
  • Overnight shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three days/week

Opportunities exist to cover various shifts and pick up overtime.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in a health-related field with one year of psychiatric experience in an inpatient setting, or two years of psychiatric experience with ongoing education in mental health
  • Experience with adults, adolescents, and dual populations preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, Verbal De-escalation, and Handle with Care Certifications (to be provided by the hospital)
