Summit Oaks Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Associate (MHA) to join its treatment team, providing continuous patient care and supervising patients ranging from preschool to geriatrics on multiple units.

The role entails taking vital signs, leading educational groups, responding to codes, and supporting care on night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am) with alternating weekends. CPR/First Aid and de-escalation training are required or provided.

Qualifikationen

• B.S. in health-related field with one year of psychiatric experience or two years of psychiatric experience with continuation education (CEU) related to mental health.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications (provided by the Hospital).

Our Mental Health Associate (MHA) position presents an ideal opportunity for an energetic, motivated individual with prior experience working with patients with behavioral health or addictions diagnosis. The Mental Health Associate functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics , depending on the nursing unit assigned. At present, the nursing units include a 28 bed adult psych unit, a 28 bed adult dual diagnosis, a 22 bed child and adolescent unit , a 24 bed detox unit and a 20 bed rehab unit. Other MHA duties include taking vital signs, conducting educational groups and responding to codes.

This is a full time, night shift position from 7:00pm - 7:00am with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

Mental Health Associate (MHA) Job Requirements:

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health preferred.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications which will be provided by the Hospital.
