Hampton Behavioral Health Center is a 120-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Westampton, New Jersey. We offer advanced behavioral health and diagnostic treatment services for adults, adolescents, and older adults in inpatient and outpatient programs. Position Overview

The Mental Health Associate provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Clinical/Nursing Administration. We seek energetic individuals passionate about healthcare and healing to be an interactive part of patient care. The ideal candidate should understand basic psychology and human behavior and be interested in providing direct care to foster a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with patients' activities of daily living, encouraging appropriate behavior, intervening when necessary, and preventing inappropriate behaviors on the units. The role involves leading and escorting patients to meals, programs, court, clinics, and other activities, requiring a compassionate yet firm approach. Good documentation, organization, and time management skills are essential. You will meet with assigned patients daily and provide feedback on their progress to the treatment team.

Shift Details

This is a full-time position from 3 pm to 11 pm, four days a week, totaling 32 hours, with rotating weekends. Opportunities to cover various shifts and pick up overtime are available.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in a health-related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably inpatient; or two years of psychiatric experience with ongoing education in mental health.
  • Experience with adult, adolescent, and dual psychiatric populations is preferred.
  • Must maintain CPR, First Aid, Verbal De-escalation, and Handle with Care certifications, which will be provided by the hospital.
