Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), is seeking Mental Health Associates to provide direct patient care under RN supervision at our Westampton, New Jersey campus.

The role focuses on assisting with activities of daily living, guiding patients through meals and programs, and contributing to treatment plans. The position is full-time, 7am–7pm, three days a week with rotating weekends; CPR/First Aid and De-escalation training will be provided.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health-related field with 1 year psychiatric experience, or 2 years in psychiatric settings with related continuing education.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Lead patients to meals, programs, court, clinics and other activities with a compassionate but firm approach.
• Document care and report progress to the treatment team as part of Nursing Care Plan strategies.
• Meet with assigned patients daily and provide feedback to the treatment team on improvements.

The Mental Health Associate provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered nurse and Clinical/Nursing Administration. We are looking for energetic individuals with a passion for healthcare and healing to be an interactive and essential part of care for our patients. The ideal candidate will understand the basics of psychology and human behaviors and have an interest in providing direct patient care in order to encourage a therapeutic milieu. You will provide assistance and supervision of patients' activities of daily living by encouraging appropriate behavior; intervening when needed and preventing inappropriate behavior on the units.

This position will require you to be in charge of assembling and escorting patients for their prompt arrival to meals, programs, court, clinics and other designated activities. This will require a person who has a take charge mentality and a desire to lead patients in a compassionate but firm manner in their treatment plans. In order to be successful in this position, you must have good documentation, organization and time management skills. You will be required to meet with assigned patients daily, and provide feedback to the treatment team on the patients' improvements and progress in implementing the Nursing Care Plan strategies.

This is a Full Time position from 7am - 7pm, 3 days a week, 36 hours a week with rotating weekends. There is opportunity to cover various shifts and pickup overtime if interested.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
