Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health Behavioral Health Center in Central Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Associate to support patients in the Short Term Care unit. You will work under supervision to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for adults with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field required.
• Five years of behavioral health experience or completion of AIMS Mental Health Technician Training Program or related certification.
• AHA/BSL certification (BLS) required.
• Minimum one year of experience, training, or education in treatment field.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate group and individual supervision to patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Participate in therapeutic, educational, recreational, and creative activities.
• Observe and document patient behaviors and communicate with treatment team.
• Assist with safe transport of patients within the facility.
• Collaborate with nurses to support individualized care plans.
