Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Mental Health Associate at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. The role supports patients in a behavioral health setting within the Emergency Screening department and reports to the Nursing team.

The position is full-time, day shift with a 40-hour work week and every third weekend. The incumbent will assist with daily care, engage in therapeutic activities, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery and safety.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or 5+ years of psychiatric services experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Experience in behavioral health preferred.
• Full Time Day schedule: 40 hours/week; 3 shifts; every 3rd weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to patients in a behavioral health setting.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and other team members.
• Assist with activities of daily living and monitoring patient well-being.
• Document observations, interventions, and patient responses.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and support treatment plans.
