Job summary

Livingston County Community Mental Health in Howell, MI seeks a Mental Health Assistant - PERS to monitor consumer safety and respond to needs via the 24/7 Personal Emergency Response System. The midnight shift runs 6 pm–6 am with rotating weekends and holidays, under supervision of the PERS Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid MI driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Evening hours required – midnight shift 6 pm–6 am.
  • Rotating 2-week schedule - Mon, Tues, Friday, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs. Every other weekend is required.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Able to work independently with no supervision.
  • Able to discern multiple conversations and noises while external sounds and distractions are present in a room.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to learn computer operations and documentation procedures, operation of office equipment, filing, and other tasks as assigned.

Mental Health Assistant: $19.37 - $22.27 per hour based on experience.

Role

Mental Health Assistant- PERS

Under the supervision of the PERS Program Coordinator, monitors the health, safety, and security of multiple consumers simultaneously via the electronic Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) monitors. Responds to their needs verbally and in person, or by arranging for an appropriate response. PERS runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a midnight position, 6 pm-6 am.
