Job description

Description:

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
Ensures the safety of patients and staff by initiating all behavioral interventions as trained (in Handle With Care and crisis de-escalation) and seeking the necessary authorization from the appropriate persons when restrictive interventions are employed. Provides visual monitoring and personal searches of all clients per acuity protocol.
Facilitates psychoeducational groups.
Gains expertise in identification of discharge resources and assists in coordination thereof.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Psychology, Counseling or related field preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
American Heart Association First Aid within 90 days of hire.
Handle With Care within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Work Experience
Six months of experience working with population served or
Peer Support Specialist Training or
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
