Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Psych Aide to provide direct patient contact and monitor responses to services in a hospital setting. The role supports patient safety and quality care under supervision of the Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, experience with mentally ill or addicted individuals, and Crisis Intervention Training with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience working with mentally ill or addicted individuals or in personal care.
• Crisis Intervention Training and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient contact to monitor responses to services.
• Coordinate with Nursing staff and hospital departments to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Apply crisis intervention techniques as needed.
• Perform environment and patient safety tasks, including room inspections and visitor monitoring.
• Communicate abnormal vital signs or patient conditions to the care team.
• Support patients emotionally and cognitively, reporting concerns to staff.
