GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN - Mental Health / Addiction Services Masters-level Therapist

Our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor provides clinical services to clients who are returning to the community after being incarcerated for non-violent crimes. You will provide clinical leadership responsible for the assessment, treatment plan, quarterly reviews, and therapeutic services delivered, including authorization and reauthorizations for each case. Salary based on applicable experience: $50,960.00

The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinician reports to the Supervisor and provides clinical services to clients and families. They lead case management efforts and are responsible for assessments, treatment plans, reviews, therapeutic services, and case authorizations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop person-centered treatment plans, including family engagement when applicable
  2. Coordinate care with family and involved individuals (e.g., school personnel, probation officers, medical providers)
  3. Provide individual, family therapy, and case management services as needed
  4. Market and network with community partners and referral sources
  5. Complete all documentation promptly, including service plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
  6. Represent Samaritas' mission and values in community interactions
  7. Monitor and evaluate the quality of treatment services provided to caseload clients
  8. Participate in staff and therapist meetings as scheduled
  9. Ensure timely compliance with Quality Assurance standards

  • Engage in ongoing professional development through trainings, conferences, and peer supervision

Job Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Two years of clinical experience working with SUD clients preferred
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams is a plus

Experience

  • At least one year of SUD counseling experience preferred
  • Teamwork experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with SUD documentation is a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Valid unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record and proof of automobile insurance
